The Inca Trail is the most famous and appreciated trekking in Peru.

43 kilometers through unforgettable landscapes, from the Andes to the rainforest and subtropical jungle, discovering the traces of the Inca empire, the Inca Trail takes you to the final destination, Machu Picchu.

The proposed hikes are of different durations, depending on the route and the skills of those who tackle them, and can be connected to other famous Peru hikes, such as the Cordillera Blanca trek.

The most classic and famous Inca Trail lasts 4 days , following the sacred path that the Inca people followed to get to Machu Picchu.

They are not routes exclusively for expert hikers. Anyone, with a little training, can tackle the path. The daily walking hours are about 6, very often climbing on steps or in any case on irregular paths. Overnight stays in equipped rest areas, with few baths and water at room temperature (… cold!).

The route crosses different climatic zones. The best season to go on a Peru trekking is the dry season (April — October), with warm temperatures during the day, but with a strong evening temperature range (consider that the average altitude is above 3000m).

To book Peru trekking tours you need to work with a travel agency. Accesses are limited (max 500 people per day). Tickets are nominal and must be paid in advance.

The organized trekking in Peru includes “port adores”, which anticipate the group by carrying backpacks, so that the camp is set up before the tourists arrive. Cooks and guides will also accompany you.

The climax of the tour is reached on the last day, when, after a departure before sunrise, The vision of the dawn that colors the peaks is a moment hard to forget!
